10,000 Yeshiva Bochurim Gather in Beit Shemesh for Massive 'Talmudo B'Yado' Event

Approximately 10,000 yeshiva bochurim from across Israel gathered in Beit Shemesh for a "Talmudo B'Yado" Event organized by Ichud Bnei Hayeshivos. The gathering, held at the municipal amphitheater, featured addresses from senior rabbinical leaders and a musical program, with preparations for the month of Elul and the High Holidays.

Dozens of buses brought participants from communities throughout the country, with the amphitheater divided into sections for the various yeshivos represented. The event was organized by Rav Yehuda Weissfish in conjunction with the Beit Shemesh municipality and Mayor Shmuel Greenberg.

The evening opened with a musical production titled "Ashira Uzo," Featuring composer Rav Hillel Paley and Rav Mordechai Orlansky, focusing on traditional prayer melodies and yeshiva-world niggunim. The program included performances by Mordechai Ben David, Yeedle Werdyger, Bentzi Stein, and conductor Yoeli Dickman.

The central moment came with the arrival of leading rabbinical figures including Rav Dov Landau, Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, Rav Berel Povarsky, and Rav Dovid Cohen. The bochurim rose and greeted them with singing.

The rabbinical leaders offered words of encouragement ahead of Elul, addressing the importance of strengthening Torah study and remaining connected to the study hall. Their remarks also touched on the situation facing the yeshiva world amid the ongoing draft crisis, urging bochurim not to weaken in their commitment to Torah but to intensify their learning during this challenging period.

Also present were rabbonim, roshei yeshiva, and other religious officials from Beit Shemesh, along with MKs Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev, Mayor Greenberg, city council members, and other public figures.

Following the program, participants boarded buses to return to communities across Israel as preparations began for the Elul semester and the High Holidays.
