A record 47 out of 62 Long Island Shluchim convened at the new Chabad House in Commack for the 23rd Annual Kinus HaShluchim of Long Island, described as a day centered on unity, connection, renewed friendships, and shared inspiration.
The newly elected Vaad HaShluchim of Long Island organized programming that engaged participants throughout the event, with many arriving early and staying late. Rabbi Mendy and Brocha Teldon hosted at the venue, while Olga's Gourmet provided catering. Attendees received certificates covering 50% of the cost of bedikas tefillin for the coming year upon arrival.
Nine Shluchim opened the day with practical advice on various aspects of shlichus work, including Rabbis Mendy Brownstein, Shaya Hurwitz, Sholom Moshe Paltiel, Anchelle Perl, Mendy Goldberg, Aizik Baumgarten, Yaakov Wilansky, Shloime Naparstek, and Yaakov Yosef Raskin. Rabbi Shmuel Lipszyc served as master of ceremonies.
For the first time, separate roundtable discussions were held for Nassau and Suffolk county Shluchim. The Suffolk group resolved to establish a Rabbinical Alliance and supporting website, while Nassau participants discussed regional issues and collaboration opportunities.
Following afternoon prayer and a group photo, the banquet featured a video about shlichus and a siyum by Rabbi Yanki Reiter in memory of his wife, Devorah Leah a"h. Three new Shluchim were welcomed: Rabbi Mendel Kramer of Merrick, Rabbi Mendel Sorkin of Water Mill, and Rabbi Leivi Sudak of Mineola.
Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, Head Shliach of Long Island, addressed the gathering on "Redefining success" each day and the significance of serving in the Rebbe's army. Guest speaker Rabbi Mendel Rubin of Albany delivered a presentation on shlichus and led a farbrengen that extended into the evening.
The gathering was the largest Long Island Kinus to date, marked by what organizers described as a spirit of unity and deepened connection to the Rebbe.
