Iran is not currently engaged in direct talks with the United States, according to Iran International reporting Monday.

When asked about deadlines for an agreement, Trump said, "We will see. Would I rather make a deal? I am not looking to kill people. Because people die. A lot of people die. We don't want that."

Trump had announced Saturday on Truth Social that he agreed to cancel a planned military attack, provided Iran swiftly reached a deal. His statement specified the agreement would include "the Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT, and an end to Iran's nuclear threat." He said Israel joined him in the commitment to pursue a rapid deal.
