Minister Nir Barkat denied reports on Friday that he had plotted against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting his continued loyalty and support. Speaking to Kan News on Reshet Bet, Barkat rejected the allegations and attributed them to political opponents seeking to undermine him. "They are trying to eliminate me. They know very well that I am a threat to their future," Barkat said.
According to Barkat, Netanyahu raised the matter with him directly approximately three years earlier. "About three years ago, the prime minister called me. I was with him in a conversation. He asked me and said things, and I denied it," Barkat recounted. "I denied it then and I deny it today."
Barkat reiterated his backing for the prime minister, stating: "I am loyal to the prime minister, I always supported him, I stood by him, and I stand by him today." He added: "I think he is the most suitable person to lead the country."
