BLOCKADE STRIKE: U.S. Disables Tanker Attempting To Reach Iran’s Kharg Island
U.S. forces disabled a Curaçao-flagged oil tanker in the Arabian Gulf after it ignored repeated warnings and attempted to sail toward Iran’s Kharg Island in violation of the U.S. naval blockade. CENTCOM said a U.S. aircraft fired Hellfire missiles into the ship’s smokestack, leaving the unladen M/T Belma unable to continue toward Iran.
