According to reports, the Lincoln has operated for 200 days without visiting a port and has experienced shortages of food, toothpaste and soap, as well as water contamination and plumbing problems. Sailors aboard have also dealt with exhaustion and deteriorating mental health. A U.S. Official indicated that the carrier rotation had been scheduled in advance of the concerns regarding conditions aboard the Lincoln.
