A year-old artificial intelligence startup has established its South Florida headquarters after securing dedicated office space in Aventura.
Bubba AI Inc., operating as Comp AI, signed a five-year lease for 5,778 square feet in the Aventura View office building at 2999 N.E. 191st St., moving in earlier this month. Lease financial terms were not disclosed.
Mason White of Wolf Co. Real Estate represented the tenant, while Danet Linares, Isabella Stanfield and Tere Blanca of Blanca Commercial Real Estate represented the landlord.
The headquarters currently houses seven employees already based in South Florida, with plans to hire approximately 20 additional in-person staff by year-end. The company currently employs 22 people total.
CEO Lewis Carhart will relocate to South Florida next month from Southampton in the United Kingdom, according to a company spokesperson.
"Miami has quickly become the center of gravity for Comp AI," Carhart said. "Our largest cluster of employees is here, our hiring focus is here and this new headquarters gives us a physical home base where we can build, ship and support customers together in one place."
The company plans a roughly $200,000 remodel that includes building an AI laboratory with on-site servers for running AI agents, with completion targeted for mid-October.
The Aventura View building contains more than 121,000 square feet of office space on a 4-acre site with surface parking. A joint venture of Related Group and BH Group acquired the property for $51 million in 2022. The building is located just south of Aventura Mall.
The parking lot is slated for redevelopment, with plans filed in April by Apollo Cos. Proposing a multifamily tower and hotel while preserving the existing office building.
