An unmanned aerial vehicle fell near the home of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in Kiryat Arba on Saturday, according to his office. The circumstances surrounding the incident were under investigation.
Security officials informed Ben-Gvir of the incident during Shabbat. No injuries resulted from the incident, and "The minister and his family are safe," The statement said.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that troops retrieved the drone from the Givat HaAvot neighborhood of Kiryat Arba, which sits adjacent to the city of Hebron.
Israeli security forces have prevented multiple attacks targeting Ben-Gvir in recent years. The minister heads the right-wing Otzma Yehudit Party.
In September 2025, Israeli security forces arrested a Hamas terrorist cell from the Hebron area that had been plotting to assassinate Ben-Gvir using explosive-laden drones. The joint operation by the Shin Bet and IDF determined the suspects had obtained drones with help from Hamas's Turkey offices. Several UAVs were seized during the arrests.
