Surfside Commissioner David Weingot has endorsed U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds for Florida governor, citing the congressman's historical support for the Jewish community.
"I'm proud to endorse Byron Donalds for Governor because he has been a steadfast supporter and friend of the Jewish community in Florida throughout his entire career in public service," Weingot said. "At a time when antisemitism is rising to historic levels across our country, Florida has remained a beacon of safety and support thanks in large part to the moral clarity of our state's leaders. I know the Jewish community can count on Byron in Tallahassee, once he is our next Governor, to continue standing with us and ensuring Florida remains a place where Jewish people can live openly, proudly, and securely."
The endorsement highlight Donalds' record of advocacy for Jewish residents during a period of increased antisemitism nationally.
