EXTRAORDINARY: 1,000+ Roshei Kollelim Gather for Historic Adopt-a-Kollel Convention

More than 1,000 Roshei and Menaheli Kollelim from across Eretz Yisrael convened in Kfar Saba for an Adopt-a-Kollel convention. The nine-hour event focused on tefillah, chizuk, and strengthening partnerships between kollelim in Eretz Yisrael and sponsor kehillos abroad.

The gathering took place during a challenging period for the study of Torah. Government cuts have significantly impacted kollelim and avreichim, while currency fluctuations have reduced overseas support. Despite these difficulties, tens of thousands of yungeleit continue their studies with commitment and dedication.

The convention was attended by prominent rabbinic leaders who expressed appreciation for the Roshei Kollelim and avreichim sustaining Torah study. Rav Dov Landau Shlit"a emphasized "The extraordinary zechus of sustaining Torah and the importance of kehillos abroad partnering with kollelim." Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch Shlit"A spoke of "the tremendous kevod Shamayim created when a kehillah assumes responsibility for a kollel."

Throughout the event, speakers underscored that Adopt-a-Kollel partnerships extend beyond financial support. Partner kehillos become genuine participants in their kollel's Torah study while gaining connection to Toras Eretz Yisrael. Rav Moshe Yosef Scheinerman of Kollel Bnei Yeshivos of Flatbush stated: "We get so much more than we give!"

Participants received guidance on deepening these relationships, while Roshei Kollelim without established partnerships met with coordinators to form new connections. The assembled leaders delivered an urgent call for increased support of yungeleit and their families during this difficult period.

Adopt-a-Kollel, which has established more than 560 partnerships, announced plans for a special campaign to provide relief to avreichim and their families.
