Sen. John Fetterman warned Thursday that the Democratic Party is increasingly distancing itself from Israel and failing to support the American Jewish community, with the trend likely to worsen.

Speaking on Newsmax TV's The Record, Fetterman said he has previously cautioned fellow Democrats about this trajectory. He pointed to Wednesday's House vote on Israel aid as evidence, stating, "are going to back, back, back, back away from Israel and not defend the Jewish community in our nation. And that's where we are. We have that manifestation with that vote yesterday," And cautioned that the pattern "won't stop. In fact, if anything, it's going to accelerate."

Host Greta Van Susteren raised concerns about rising antisemitism nationally, citing incidents on college campuses and public demonstrations, as well as what she characterized as a significant shift among House Democrats. She noted that 104 Democrats voted to cut funding from Israel.

Fetterman referenced anti-Israel protests on college campuses where demonstrators occupied buildings and Jewish students reported feeling threatened. He said he supported the Trump administration's efforts to hold universities accountable for their response to those events, including Harvard University, his alma mater.

"Yeah, well, without a doubt, look at the kinds of chaos that happened on the college campuses all across our nation. And you had students taking over buildings and terrorizing Jewish students. As a Democrat, I absolutely supported when the Trump administration held a lot of these universities fully accountable, including my own alma mater, too, at Harvard, too," He said, adding that the Democratic Party pattern he warned about was evident in the recent vote.

When asked whether the trend could be reversed, Fetterman expressed skepticism. "It won't stop. In fact, if anything, it's going to accelerate. Look at the people that have won. They've, anti-Israel, anti-American, anti-Western Civilization overall."
