FLASH FLOOD DISASTER: At Least Five Missing After More Than A Foot Of Rain Pounds Southeastern Missouri
At least five people are unaccounted for after catastrophic flash flooding struck southeastern Missouri, where more than a foot of rain fell in less than 24 hours. Multiple water rescues have been carried out, and forecasters described the rainfall as an extremely rare event. Additional flooding and rainfall are possible through the weekend.
