The Global Yarchei Kallah, a Torah learning gathering founded in 5734 (1974) by Shliach Rabbi Avraham Shemtov, commemorates Chof Av, the yartzeit of the Rebbe's father, Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson OBM. The Rebbe regarded the gathering as a tribute to his father's legacy and encouraged participation among Chassidim.
This year's Melave Malka will include remarks in English and Yiddish from Rabbi Ezra Schochet, Rosh Yeshivas Ohr Elchanan Chabad in Los Angeles, California; Rabbi Efraim Demichovsky, one of the Rebbe's choizrim; and Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Rov of Congregation Anshei Lubavitch in Crown Heights. Berel Faiden will provide music, and attendees will receive a teshura of the new English edition of Gems of Likkutei Levi Yitzchok, published by Chayeinu.
