Anas Said of Houston pleaded guilty on July 24 to concealing material support for ISIS and making false statements, according to the U.S. Justice Department. The 30-year-old faces up to 15 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.
Said admitted to saying that "I am thinking and hoping to kill the infidels with a weapon and as many people as possible in order to heal my heart." He concealed his identity in a pro-ISIS video he created and provided false information to police about weapon ownership.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 16.
