U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee rejected characterizations of friction between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax's "The Record with Greta Van Susteren."
"There is not this frosty relationship. It is not a rift," Huckabee said. He stated that Trump and Netanyahu "get along remarkably well and have an extraordinary personal friendship and trust of each other," Noting they maintain this bond despite occasional disagreements.
Huckabee also addressed reported concerns in Israel regarding rising antisemitism in the United States. He expressed surprise at the presence of anti-Jewish sentiment among some who identify as conservatives, attributing the trend to a "spiritual rebellion" Against religious authority. He characterized the Jewish people as representing the biblical law given at Mount Sinai.
