Hundreds of Chassidim, yeshiva students, and supporters of Chabad gathered for Shabbos at the central Chabad House and synagogue in Almaty, Kazakhstan, situated near the resting place of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe's father.
The majority of attendees traveled from the United States, while additional guests came from Israel and various European countries ahead of Chof Menachem Av, marking the yahrtzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchak.
During Shabbos, participants took part in farbrengens led by Kazakhstan's Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach, Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, alongside visiting mashpi'im who offered teachings of Torah and Chassidus to those assembled.
Local Chabad institutions are preparing for the arrival of additional hundreds of guests expected in the coming days, with arrangements being made to accommodate their needs.
