Israel is ready to "immediately resume combat" As it monitors regional tensions involving Iran, according to the Israel Defense Forces chief.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir made the statement during a situational assessment in the Judea and Samaria Division on Sunday, alongside senior commanders including Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth.
"Alongside the ongoing fight against terrorism in Judea and Samaria, we are closely monitoring developments in Iran and maintaining a high level of readiness," Zamir said. "We monitored today's launch toward the Aqaba area, and our Aerial Defense Array remains on alert to protect Israeli civilians. We are prepared to immediately resume combat and will act with great determination against anyone who harms us."
The IDF said its air defenses helped intercept ballistic missile fragments following an Iranian attack on the Jordanian city of Aqaba on Sunday.
Zamir commended troops in Judea and Samaria for their work, noting that their efforts have led to a significant decrease in terrorist attacks in the Israeli region in recent years. He also cautioned that nationalist crime undermines security and stated the military would continue coordinating with the Israel Security Agency and Israel Police to address it.
