Illinois Ticket Holder Wins $1.04 Billion Powerball Jackpot

A Powerball ticket purchased in Illinois matched all six winning numbers Wednesday night to claim an estimated $1.04 billion jackpot, marking one of the largest prizes in the game's history.

The winning numbers drawn were 4, 26, 66, 67, 69 and red Powerball 9. According to lottery officials, the ticket was bought at Hy-Vee Gas #1534 located at 310 N. 36th St. In Quincy. The ticket holder's identity has not been disclosed.

The winner may elect to receive the prize as an estimated $1.04 billion annuity distributed over 30 years, or take a one-time cash payment of approximately $450.5 million, both figures stated before taxes.

Winning the Powerball jackpot carries odds of 1 in 292.2 million. This prize represents the largest Powerball jackpot of the year and the eighth-largest in the game's history.

The previous Powerball jackpot was won on May 2, when winning tickets from Texas and Florida shared a $20 million prize. The Florida ticket from that drawing remains unclaimed.

The record Powerball jackpot stands at $2.04 billion, won in November 2022.
