Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for launching a drone attack on a U.S. Military base in Kuwait using at least three unmanned aircraft, according to a source with knowledge of the incident who spoke to The Jerusalem Post.
The IRGC has made repeated assertions of successful strikes against targets including Ali Al Salem Air Base, equipment storage facilities and air-defense systems, characterizing the operations as responses to U.S. Actions. Online video footage depicted a fire in northern Kuwait that was said to have resulted from a Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicle.
In past incidents, Kuwaiti forces have regularly reported intercepting incoming drones. U.S. Central Command has previously indicated that numerous such attempts were either prevented or resulted in minimal consequences.
Official details regarding casualties or damage from this attack were not immediately confirmed.
