Israel's Health Ministry and Magen David Adom have appealed to the public to donate blood, citing a substantial shortage in supplies with particular need for Type O blood. Health Ministry Director-General Moshe Bar Siman Tov stated: "We need to regularly replenish the blood supply, and I call on the public to come and donate." He added: "If more than three months have passed since your last donation, come and donate again. Donating blood is a simple act that saves lives, and it is part of our mutual responsibility and the responsibility we all share, both in routine times and in emergencies."
