The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes against four Hamas weapon depots throughout the Gaza Strip during overnight operations, according to an announcement by the Israel Defense Forces on Thursday.
The military stated that the strikes destroyed facilities containing assault rifles, explosive devices, anti-tank missile launchers and other weaponry. The IDF said Hamas had planned to deploy these arms in attacks against Israeli troops in Gaza and Israeli civilians.
The army characterized the operation as aimed "to remove the threat."
