Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar held a phone call on Tuesday with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to address mutual security concerns, particularly regarding Iran's actions.
Sa'ar conveyed condolences for Ukrainian casualties in the ongoing war and extended an invitation for Sybiha to visit Israel. The call came as the two nations prepared to observe 35 years of diplomatic relations. Sa'ar indicated that the countries plan to expand their cooperation, including through the establishment of new education centers within Ukrainian hospitals.
Sybiha accepted the invitation and used the conversation to brief Sa'ar on Russia's intensifying operations against civilian shipping and maritime freedom in the Black Sea. He emphasized how these developments pose risks to worldwide food security, noting Israel's position as a food importer. Sybiha also informed Sa'ar of ongoing preparations related to the 85th anniversary commemoration of the Babyn Yar massacre.
Both foreign ministers agreed to sustain ongoing dialogue and strengthen their partnership through work within international organizations.
