The New York City Police Department's hate crimes task force is investigating two separate incidents in which a bag of oil was thrown at synagogues in Queens, according to the department.

The NYPD has filed reports for criminal mischief stemming from an attack on a synagogue at 83-10 188 Street around 11:45 p.m. And another at 86-25 Francis Lewis Boulevard around 11 p.m. Young Israel of Jamaica Estates occupies the first location, while Young Israel of Holliswood is situated at the second. Both are Orthodox congregations.

No injuries were reported at either location, the NYPD said. No arrests have been made and the investigations remain ongoing.

When asked about reports that fecal matter was also used to vandalize the synagogues, the NYPD made no mention of such incidents in the report shared with the news outlet.
