The Pentagon plans a significant expansion in its purchases of PAC-3 MSE and THAAD interceptor missiles for fiscal 2027, seeking approximately 10 times the quantity procured in 2026, according to Army budget documents. The Army is requesting 3,655 interceptors as the U.S. Works to rapidly expand its missile-defense stockpiles and production capacity. The service has also increased its overall PAC-3 MSE acquisition objective from 3,376 to 13,773 missiles, representing more than a fourfold increase in the planned total.
