Following strong participation and positive feedback, the Summer Morning Kollel for Mechanchim at 770's Rebbe's Shul has been extended for two additional weeks beginning Monday, August 3. Mechanchim who have not yet joined are invited to participate.
Organized through Igud Hamelamdim, the program brings together educators from yeshivos across the community for morning study sessions in Nigleh and Chassidus. Held in the renovated Ezras Nashim, it has become a summer highlight, drawing participants each morning and fostering an atmosphere of unity, inspiration, and spiritual peace.
Rabbi Nachman Shapiro serves as Rosh Kollel and meishiv, supported by Rabbi Yekusiel Feldman, who provides shiurim and insights. Rabbi Levi Matusof has prepared learning materials and coordinated the program, while Rabbi Yoel Belenitsky has assisted throughout.
The curriculum uses prepared learning booklets covering selected Talmudic topics and Chassidic concepts. In Chassidus, the focus centers on Daas Elyon and Daas Tachton from the Rebbe's Hemshech of תשט״ו, tracing their development through earlier sources. Rabbi Shapiro show how these concepts progress through Seder Hishtalshelus and apply to daily spiritual practice. In Nigleh, many participants have studied Lulav HaGazul across classical sources and legal codes. The program also follows the principle of "לעולם ילמוד אדם במקום שלבו חפץ," Allowing participants to pursue areas that inspire them most.
Participants reported that "beginning the day immersed in Torah together with fellow Mechanchim is an experience unlike anything else. The warmth, clarity, and menuchas hanefesh we gain each morning remain with us throughout the day and are felt directly in our classrooms. It is a tremendous chizuk both personally and professionally."
A special farbrengen was held on ה׳ אב marking the Arizal's yahrzeit, attended by participants and supporter Rabbi Yosef Michashvili.
Rabbi Avrohom Bluming, Director of Igud Hamelamdim, stated: "When Mechanchim strengthen themselves in Torah, the beneficiaries are not only those sitting in the Beis Medrash. Every talmid they teach benefits from that inspiration. Providing Mechanchim with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Torah in such a meaningful environment is one of the greatest investments that can be made in the future of Chinuch."
