President Trump On Long Island Today For Nassau Police Academy Tour

President Trump visited Long Island this afternoon to tour the Nassau County Police Academy in Garden City. The visit centered on the FBI's 2025 Crime Report, which documented the largest year-to-year drop in violent crime on record, including an estimated 18.1% decline in murder and manslaughter.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman attended the tour alongside Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel. According to officials, the visit also served to recognize local police, sheriffs, probation officers, and firefighters.

Trump was expected to remain in the area from roughly 1 p.m. To 5 p.m. Residents and drivers in Garden City, Mineola, Uniondale, East Meadow, and Hempstead were advised to anticipate intermittent road closures, delays, and increased traffic during the visit.
