Chayenu has published a special booklet of teachings by Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson in honor of Chof Av, marking the 82nd anniversary of his passing. The publication features 16 teachings related to the month of Tishrei, covering both general themes and material specific to individual holidays and their associated commandments.
The Rebbe requested that Chasidim study his father's Torah teachings on his Yahrtzeit and give charity in his memory. The booklet is available for download and can be printed and shared. Hard copies are also available for order.
As in previous years, copies will be printed in Alma Ata for those visiting the burial place of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok on this date. The booklet also includes, for the first time, a manuscript page in Rabbi Levi Yitzchok's handwriting connected to one of the teachings.
The publication was made possible through support from Pini and Sary Althaus and family, honoring Reb Pinye Althaus, who helped retrieve Rabbi Levi Yitzchok's manuscripts from behind the Iron Curtain and brought them to the Rebbe in 5720, the same documents from which Likutei Levi Yitzchok was later published. It was also made possible by Shlomy and Chaya Nelken and family in honor of Yechiel Dov ben Avraham Menachem, whose Yahrtzeit falls on Chof Av.
Ezzy Rappaport of Bal Harbour, Florida, initiated the project and oversaw it for five years. Sholom Laine provided ongoing support for adapting the teachings in the weekly Chayenu publication.
