TALKS DELAYED: Israel-Lebanon Negotiations Stall Amid Rising Tensions

Negotiations between Israel and Lebanon are on hold as tensions escalate between the two sides. According to reports, Lebanon has declined to schedule additional talks in the coming period, citing disagreement over the scope of proposed withdrawal zones. Israel has separately lodged complaints with the United States regarding operations by the Lebanese military, claiming coordination with Hezbollah.

On Friday, Hezbollah fired an explosive drone at Israeli Defense Forces positions in the Ali Taher Ridge area north of Beaufort. No injuries or damage resulted from the strike. Though assessed as a ceasefire breach, the IDF did not make the incident public. Israeli military assessments attributed the drone launch to Hezbollah's attempt to help the escape of individuals from an underground location in the area.

The latest round of talks had commenced earlier in the week. Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji was not included in the negotiations due to his positions opposing Hezbollah.
