Everyday halachic questions - what bracha applies to a granola bar, whether a hallway closet requires a mezuzah, how to proceed if the wrong Shemoneh Esrei is caught mid-recitation - arise regularly for most people. Yet many receive no formal instruction in these practical matters, despite their frequency.
Lemaan Yilmedu's Day-to-Day Halacha course addresses this gap through a year-long curriculum covering practical halachos from Orach Chaim and Yoreh Deah. Topics include Krias HaTorah, Hilchos Beis HaKnesses, tefillah, brachos, tzedakah, and mezuzah, with emphasis on halacha l'maaseh - the applicable ruling when a question arises.
Rabbi Asher Webb, Rosh Kollel of Midtown Manhattan, delivers the shiurim entirely in English. The course includes full translations of the Shulchan Aruch and commentaries, clear summaries, and visual diagrams. All classes are recorded for those unable to attend live sessions.
Participants who complete the course receive a certificate from the Vaad of Lemaan Yilmedu.
The course begins 19 Elul 5786 (September 1, 2026) and runs for twelve months on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
