You observe Jewish law daily. This program offers the opportunity to study it comprehensively from primary sources and earn a formal Semicha certificate in the process. The course spans one year, meeting twice weekly, and is conducted entirely in English.
Traditionally, rabbinical ordination study occurs before marriage. Once a man establishes a family and pursues income to support it, the time-intensive study required for Semicha often becomes impractical. Between work obligations and other commitments, even finding time for regular learning partners becomes difficult, let alone enrolling in an extensive ordination program.
Lemaan Yilmedu has restructured Semicha to make it accessible. Classes meet twice weekly and offer both in-person and virtual options for students unable to attend physically.
Rabbi Yossi Barber leads the instruction, using his teaching method to break complex topics into manageable segments for broad comprehension. Students receive custom workbooks with translations and visual aids to clarify the material. All classes are recorded, allowing students who miss sessions to access the material for review.
Upon completing the required exams, participants receive a Semicha certificate signed by six rabbinical authorities: Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Rabbi Dovid Refoel Banon, Rabbi Yochanan Gurary, Rabbi Gedalia Oberlander, and Rabbi Gavriel Tzinner.

The course begins August 31, 2026, runs for twelve months, and meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
