Thousands of Anash from around the world are preparing to visit the burial site of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the father of the Rebbe, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the occasion of his yahrtzeit on 20 Menachem Av. Large hospitality tents have been set up near the kever to accommodate the expected visitors.
Hundreds of travelers from Eretz Yisroel are among those anticipated to attend, arriving via a charter flight organized for the event. Event organizers have installed new tents at the site, which were specially sourced from an overseas manufacturer and adapted for use. Inside the tents, banners displaying quotations from the Rebbeim about Rabbi Levi Yitzchak have been hung.
Throughout the yahrtzeit, special minyanim, Torah classes, and farbrengens will take place at the site, focusing on the life, leadership, and teachings of the Rebbe's father.
The Chabad community acknowledged philanthropist R' Avi Shaulzon for initiating, funding, and organizing the annual 20 Menachem Av events at the kever in recent years, as well as arranging accommodations for guests in local hotels. The community also thanked the Rebbe's shluchim in Almaty - Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach of Kazakhstan Rabbi Yeshaya (Shaya) Cohen and Rabbi Elchanan Cohen - for their coordination efforts.
