Rav Yehuda Lowy, grandfather of the Maharal, died in 1539. Rav Leib Baal HaYisurim of Tzefas passed away in 1836.
Rav Aharon Weiss of Benedkwits (1851 - 1932) became Rav of the town near Munkatch at age 20 and opened a yeshiva there. In 1907, he relocated his yeshiva to the Raswigeff region of Munkatch, where he served as Rav and Dayan.
Rav Avraham Elimelech Perlow of Stolin-Karlin (1891 - 1942) was born to Rav Yisrael "the Yenuka" Of Stolin and married in 1912. He became Rebbe in 1922, with most of his father's Chasidim following him to Karlin, while his brother Rav Dovid led followers to Stolin. In 1929, he established a yeshiva in Luninetz. He, his Rebetzin, and his two sons were murdered by local Ukrainian peasants. His actual date of death is unknown; this day has been designated as his Yom Hazikaron. His Torah teachings were recorded in "Kuntres Pri Elimelech" And printed in Yalkut Divrei Aharon and Birchas Aharon.
