Trump said the agreement was reached by the Board of Peace, an international body created as part of his administration's Gaza peace initiative. In a social media statement, he wrote: "Today, the Board of Peace reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting peace and security."
The agreement would unfold through structured phases. As armed groups surrender weapons, Israeli forces would gradually withdraw while an International Stabilization Force and a newly established Palestinian police force take on security responsibilities. Gaza would be governed by a new Palestinian government working with the Board of Peace, and the territory would no longer serve as a base for attacks against Israel, according to Trump's description.
Trump acknowledged the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, as well as his administration's negotiating team. He stated: "The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild."
