Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump are set to meet at the White House on Tuesday to discuss how to "leverage our great alliance to win the war and forge lasting peace," According to an Israeli official.
The official said the two leaders would focus on "peace through strength" And address "the defining issues of our time." The meeting will be the eighth major encounter between Netanyahu and Trump since the president's second term began.
"As the prime minister enters the White House at the invitation of President Trump, few allies have met so often and few alliances have achieved more in such short a time," The official said.
The visit occurs as the two countries maintain strategic coordination amid recent tensions with Iran and discuss broader regional matters. The Netanyahu-Trump meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Washington time. Approximately three hours later, Netanyahu is expected to attend a memorial service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham, described as a longtime Israel supporter.
Netanyahu is planned to hold additional meetings in Washington on Wednesday before returning home that evening.
