Tu B'Av Evening Draws Couples to Aventura South Chabad

Rabbi Pinney and Helana Herman led a Tu B'Av discussion on marriage dynamics at Chabad of Aventura South in Florida, addressing common relationship challenges including differences between early attraction and long-term partnership, communication patterns, conflict resolution, and ways to strengthen couple dynamics.

The Hermans, who served as shluchim in Raleigh, North Carolina, for over 30 years, are trained in Imago Marriage Therapy and SRT somatic training. They lead Jewish marriage workshops and have spoken nationally and internationally on topics including sholom bayis and mikvah. They currently reside in South Florida, where they work with clients individually and together, both in person and via Zoom.

More than 70 people attended the evening, which followed a buffet dinner. Mrs. Raizel Rosenfeld, Shlucha of Chabad of Aventura South, said "We are always looking to promote Sholom Bayis (marital harmony) for our community in any way we can. Rabbi Pinney and Helana were so relatable and entertaining. They gave very practical tools and included real Jewish and Chassidic concepts in their presentation."

An attendee noted, "The Hermans never met me, yet it felt like they knew exactly what was going on in my marriage. My husband and I were able to relate to the issues they raised, and we are really excited to try the solutions they taught. It was also very refreshing to hear a couple share some of their own relationship experiences and not just listen to someone tell us what to do."
