The United States and Israel extended congratulations to Morocco on Throne Day, marking the occasion with official messages.
Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "To the Kingdom of Morocco, its leadership and its people, we extend our warmest congratulations on the occasion of the Glorious Throne Day."
U.S. President Donald Trump also issued a congratulatory message, celebrating Washington's "enduring friendship with Morocco." Trump reaffirmed American recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. His statement said: "Together, we are building a new era. It is one that puts the interests of both our peoples first. I look forward to even greater success for our two nations as we continue to work together."
Israel and Morocco normalized relations under the Abraham Accords, though the relationship faced strain following the October 2023 Hamas-led attack. Morocco suspended flights between the two countries, and large protests occurred, with demonstrators chanting antisemitic slogans and displaying signs opposing Zionism and expressing support for Palestine. A movement persists within Morocco's population calling for the king to end ties with Israel.
Israeli airline Arkia announced plans to resume flights to Morocco during the summer.
