VOTING SHOWDOWN: Federal Judge Blocks Trump Administration Mail In Ballot Rules Ahead Of November Elections

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing a Trump administration directive aimed at tightening mail-in voting rules before November's congressional elections. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani extended a prior order that had prevented USPS from enforcing the changes across 23 states, most with Democratic leadership. The directive would have required states to furnish voter lists and establish new ballot-handling procedures as a condition for USPS mail delivery.
