Cheder Ohr Menachem Completes 5786 on a High

Students at Cheder Ohr Menachem marked the close of their 5786 school year with a Chagigas Siyum for grades four through seven, held Tuesday at Anashi Lubavitch hall. The event honored the directive to maintain Cheder studies throughout the summer months.

The ceremony, emceed by Menahel Rabbi Menachem Mendel Dov Yusewitz, opened with a video address from the Rebbe on the significance of each completion as a foundation for continued growth. Rabbi Zalman Goldstein of the Hanhala then read a letter from the Rebbe addressed to the graduating students and their parents, outlining guidance for summer learning and observance.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel, Menahel Kloli of the school continuum, offered Birchas Kohanim before the assembly recited the Rebbe's Kapital, led by Rabbi Zalman Liberow of the Cheder's Vaad Haruchni.

The program featured recognition of Mishnayos Baal Peh leaders from each grade, who led the assembled community in reciting the Yud-Beis Pesukim. Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun, the Mara D'asra and a parent, addressed attendees, as did Rabbi Oren Popper, representing the parents of the graduating class, who thanked the administration and teachers for their work.

A centerpiece of the event was the personal certificate ceremony, in which students from each grade received their diplomas from their teachers. Rabbi Yusewitz announced a unique commendation for each student selected by his Melamed. A video retrospective showed highlights from the school year.

The evening's climax featured the seventh-grade students completing Maseches Tomid with Rabbi Yisroel Greenberg and reciting Kaddish. The graduating seventh graders then received their certificates marking their advancement to Mesivta. The event concluded with a presentation by seventh-grade students on Shmuel HaNovi.
