Anticipation is building among Sanz-Klausenburger chassidim in Eretz Yisroel ahead of a surprise visit by their Rebbe, who is traveling from Boro Park for a brief stay before the Yomim Noraim. The visit marks his first trip to Eretz Yisroel in two years.
Upon landing, the Rebbe traveled to Tzefas, where he is staying at the home of the family of philanthropist and baal chessed Rav Shalom Fisher z"l.
The centerpiece of the visit is expected to be this coming Shabbos, Parshas Shoftim, when hundreds of Sanz-Klausenburger chassidim from communities throughout Eretz Yisroel are anticipated to travel to Tzefas to spend Shabbos with the Rebbe. Tefillos and tishen will take place at the Tomer Devorah complex in Tzefas' Old City, with preparations underway to handle the expected attendance.
During his time there, the Rebbe is scheduled to meet with chassidim seeking his counsel and blessings, and will attend several family simchos connected to the chassidus, including the wedding of a grandson of Reb Azriel Tauber, a longtime confidant of the Rebbe and leader of the Sanz-Klausenburger community in Eretz Yisroel. He is also expected at a wedding in the family of philanthropist Reb Eliyahu Schlossberg, a prominent supporter of the chassidus.
The Rebbe will also travel to Netanya with a large group of chassidim to visit the kever of his father, the Shefa Chaim of Sanz-Klausenburg zt"L.
A special team of askanim is overseeing preparations for the visit, including transportation, accommodations, and arrangements for the large gatherings expected during his stay.
