Vizhnitzer Rebbe's Condition Improves; Historic Gathering Moved to Yerushalayim

The Vizhnitzer Rebbe's health has shown improvement following a period of weakness, prompting relief among his followers. During Shabbos in Moshav Ora, attendees heard the Rebbe recite Birchas HaChodesh with the congregation. His court announced that next week's "Makdishei Shimcha" Gathering, originally scheduled for Meron, will now take place in Yerushalayim because the Rebbe lacks sufficient strength for the journey.

The improvement came after several difficult days. On Shabbos Mevorchim Elul, those present in Moshav Ora were able to hear the Rebbe participate in Birchas HaChodesh with the minyan.

Chassidim worldwide intensified their recitation of Tehillim for the Rebbe's recovery. At the Bais Medrash in Kiryat Vizhnitz in Bnei Brak, Rav Menachem Ernster, rosh yeshiva of Vizhnitz, opened the Aron Kodesh before Krias HaTorah and recited Kapitel 130 of Tehillim with the congregation in the Yomim Noraim melody.

The major "Makdishei Shimcha" Gathering, expected to draw thousands of Vizhnitzer chassidim for prayer and the opening of the annual fundraising campaign for Vizhnitz institutions, was originally planned for Tuesday night at Meron. After the Rebbe's condition declined, making the lengthy trip impossible, his court relocated the event to Yerushalayim. The Rebbe, who expressed his desire to attend, requested the move to accommodate his participation.

Organizers finalized arrangements for the gathering to be held in the Great Bais Medrash of the Gerer chassidus in Yerushalayim. Through a telephone message to his chassidim, the Rebbe urged participation, emphasizing that every individual matters for the success of the Torah world. He expressed hope that during the coming winter, he will be able to spend a Shabbos in Meron near the kever of the Rashbi.
